Delaware County Reintroduces Veteran ID Discount Program

The Delaware County Commerce Center, a centralized location for economic development in Delaware County, is seeking to expand participation in its newly revamped Veteran ID Discount Program in support of Delaware County Veterans and local businesses.

The Veteran ID Discount Program is an opportunity for participating Delaware County businesses to thank local Veterans for their service to our country by providing discounts on their goods and services. The discount may be a percentage of the sale, a specific dollar amount, or both.  Veteran enrollment in the Veterans Discount program also supports local businesses by encouraging Delaware County Veterans to shop locally.

As a part of the enhanced program, participating businesses will be provided with additional resources to promote their involvement, including an emblem to display in their business storefront and on their website.
To qualify for the Veteran discount, Veterans must have been discharged under honorable conditions and present a valid photo and a copy of their DD-214 (or equivalent military discharge document issued after 1950) supporting their military service to the Delaware County Recorder of Deeds. Veterans who cannot locate their DD-214 or other separation documents can get an application from the Delaware County Veterans Affairs Department to acquire a copy of the discharge document from the National Military Personnel Records Center.

“We are thankful for our existing business partners for their participation in the program,” said Laura Goodrich Cairns, Executive Director of the Delaware County Commerce Center.  “We encourage all Delaware County business owners and operators to join in.”

“Delaware County has immense respect and admiration for those who have served and who continue to serve our country in the armed forces,” said Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor. “We are proud to provide this resource to express our gratitude for the vital contributions and sacrifices they have made for our Nation’s freedom.”

There are currently over 40 local businesses participating in the program throughout Delaware County.

"We are thrilled to introduce the Veterans ID Discount Program at State Street Pub. It's our way of saying 'thank you' to the brave men and women who have served our country. We want State Street Pub to be a place where Veterans feel appreciated and at home,” said Caitlyn Bramanti, Social Media and Event Manager of State Street Pub. “All Veterans presenting a valid military ID will receive a generous 10% discount on their entire bill when visiting State Street Pub.”
